Trade day today…working for a garage I regularly do work for in Pontefract. They had some new stock in, one of which was a Mazda RX8 which required all 4 wheels refurbishing. The wheels had some light corrosion and moderate kerb marks which required attention. Standard procedure, started by jacking the car up and removing the wheels. Broke the bead and corrected the face of the wheel using 2 pack resin filler and the Dual Action sander. The key is to prep the wheels, as the painted finish is only as good as the surface underneath it, so once the face was ready is was given the primer/paint/lacquer procedure. I decided to paint them in a bright metallic silver as this is a good match to how the original finish was from the factory. After the mazda was completed, it was time to move onto a suzuki sx4 – slight kerbing, same process as above – painted in high power silver to match the other wheels on the car!
As it rained cats and dogs all day, not too many photo opportunities but a few before and afters below!
