This customer was referred to me by a friend of mine (guess I owe you a pint Steve!) as his wife had kerbed the wheels on their Range Rover. This particular car had upgraded 22″ Overfinch wheels on, which had been finished in a chrome silver finish – so a combination of the largest wheels our oven can take and the most complex finish – I’ll have that pint back then Steve! The damage to the wheels was minimal, once this was corrected the wheels were keyed up ready for paint. The wheels were first base coated in matt black, then the top coat of Vicrom chrome silver was applied. This is the same process as shadow chrome, but the silver is applied to the whole of the wheel, as no “shadows” are being created – the black is required to bring out the silver. Once the paint is applied, a clearcoat of lacquer is applied and the wheel cured.
